"Tell me, what is it you plan to do with your one wild and precious life?"
Mary Oliver, “The Summer Day”
Katie Moore, LMFT-A
I return to this question often, in my own life, and in the therapy space. It reminds me that being human is tender, complex, and always unfolding, especially in a world that doesn’t offer the same freedoms, choices, or safety to everyone.
As a Marriage and Family Therapist, I am most drawn to the in-between places: life transitions, identity shifts, and the quiet (or not so quiet) moments when something inside you says, “This no longer fits.” My approach is collaborative, curious, and creative and I enjoy working with individual adults and couples who are seeking greater clarity, connection, and growth.
At EverGrow Therapy Co., I utilize evidence-based therapy techniques such as Solution-Focused Therapy, Emotionally Focused Therapy (EFT), the Gottman Method, and other integrative approaches to help clients strengthen relationships, improve communication, and navigate life’s challenges with resilience and authenticity.
I am a proud native of Greenville and deeply grateful for the community that exists here. I received my Bachelor of Science from University of South Carolina and later pursued a Master of Marriage and Family Therapy at Converse University in Greenville, SC.
When I am not in the therapy setting, you’ll likely find me cheering at one of my kids’ sporting events, reading a good book, walking with my spouse, spending time with family, or laughing with friends.
“When I have been listened to and when I have been heard, I am able to re-perceive my world in a new way and to go on. It is astonishing how elements that seem insoluble become soluble when someone listens.”
Carl Rogers
Emily Thorne, LMFT-A
I’m a Marriage and Family Therapy Associate at EverGrow Therapy Co., where I work to create and maintain a space where you feel truly listened to and understood. I believe that real healing happens when we feel seen, supported, and empowered to be ourselves. My approach combines empathy, guidance, and a nonjudgmental attitude to help you work through life’s challenges. My interest in human emotions has always been at the heart of my work. During my time at Clemson University, where I earned my B.S. in psychology, I developed a deep curiosity about what drives people and how emotions shape our experiences.
It was there that I realized just how vital it is to really hear and see each other. This curiosity led me to pursue a Master’s in Marriage and Family Therapy at Converse University, where I learned how to apply evidence-based techniques to help individuals, couples, and families navigate their unique challenges. I’m especially passionate about helping people improve communication, build self-esteem, navigate life’s transitions and help people make sense of the unknown. Whether you’re navigating relationships, family dynamics, or just looking to rediscover your own worth, I’m here. I draw from Solution-Focused Brief Therapy, Cognitive Behavioral Therapy, and Bowenian Family Therapy, approaches that I believe offer practical, positive, and holistic ways to help you reach your therapeutic goals. A little about me: I’m originally from Greenville, South Carolina, and when I’m not working with clients, you’ll probably find me watching reality tv, reading a thriller book, or spending time with my family, friends, and dogs!
“Be patient with all that is unresolved in your heart.”
Rainer Maria Rilke
Christine Elder, LMFT-A
As a Marriage and Family Therapist, I bring together a deep understanding of human behavior with genuine compassion for the complexities of real life. My foundation began with a Bachelor of Science in Biology, where I developed a lifelong curiosity about how people grow, adapt, and heal. This curiosity expanded during my Master of Public Health training, where I studied how relationships, communities, and environments shape our well-being. Ultimately, my passion for supporting individuals and families on a more personal level led me to earn a Master of Marriage and Family Therapy from Converse University in Greenville, SC.
Both my professional work and personal journey, including navigating significant life transitions, have taught me that growth often begins in times of uncertainty. These experiences have shaped me into a therapist who leads with
both clarity and empathy. I understand that healing isn’t only about change; it’s also about rediscovering your strength, identity, and capacity for resilience along the way.
In my practice, I offer a warm, collaborative, and grounded space where individuals, couples, and families can explore what’s holding them back, strengthen communication, and move toward meaningful change. As a lifelong learner, I have trained in many evidence-based modalities such as, EFT, Gottman Method, Structural Family therapy and other somatic approaches.. At EverGrow Therapy Co., I focus on supporting people through life’s challenges with compassion, insight, and a commitment to their growth.
Outside the therapy room, I find balance through the same principles I encourage in my clients: presence, movement, and connection. Yoga keeps me centered, hiking clears my mind, and time with my family, friends, and dogs fills my life with joy. These moments remind me of the importance of nurturing relationships and staying curious about the world around us.
